The Second Save Phil-a-thon!
July 3th-9th, 2006
Starting July 3 for seven days, we are going to start a drive to save Phil. I want no excuses...we must try to save the show.
The Save Phil-a-thon starts in:
If you were given a direct link to this page, make sure you also visit the Save Phil homepage and the Save Disney Shows homepage.
Here we have collected the tools you will need for Phil-a-thon,
It is important that as many fans as possible participate in these series of special days. We dont want Disney to see all the emails and letters coming from just one area, it will look better for us if the emails, letters and faxes are coming from fans EVERYWHERE. That way, every fan is counted and it shows how big our movement really is. Emails and letters from one source doesnt make our movement very credible with Disney.....every fan, on some level..no matter how small or large a contribution, must participate in some way.
The reason for this time range: March 24th is the primere of Cow Bells and March 28th is Amy Brunker's Birthday
Phase 1 of the Phil-a-thon: This is the email phase...I want every member to an individual contact of the Walt Disney Company an email.
The link is www.savedisneyshows.org/phil/email/.
That's one full set to every contact, or you can personalize a seperate email to each contact.
There are 31 contacts so we expect 31 emails a day for all of the members.
Phase 1a: No surprise...one letter or fax to the Walt Disney Company per day. Contact info for letters and faxes are here. Setup instructions for using your computer as a fax are here.
Remember: We have a Toll Free phone number for Disney. We need to hit them hard on Tuesday when we conclude the Phil-a-thon. The number is:
(800) 874-1687
Phase 2: This is the promotion stage... Now spread the word...go to all forums and blogs and tell everyone about the Phil-a-thon immediately. Don't waste time. If we lose this battle we could easily lose the war. Make sure everyone knows as early as possible. If you love this show, you have to do whatever it takes to support this movement, please.
Use the Media Contact email program to tell the media about our cause. But, Do Not Spam The Media!. Remember, the media contacts on that program are NOT Disney. There is a sample letter for the Save KP movement that you can adapt to PotF and other useful information on the Contacting the Media page.
Phase 3: The Postcard. Here's what you need to do, first download the postcard (Adobe Acrobat/Reader required). Print it out, fold the paper in half the "hamburger" way (so the blank part is towards the middle) and then in half again. You should now halve a piece of paper folded in quartes with writing on both sides. Now, tape the edges, write your message on the reverse side of the postcard , and put a $0.39 stamp on it. Drop it in the mail and you're good to go. More andvanced users can buy heavyweight paper to print real postcards. If you would like to do it this way, you can print this file on the front and this file on the back.
Notes:
This event is modeled after an event we did to Save Kim Possible, called the Save Kim-a-thon. This event was a mild success, but could have been a great success had the participation been stronger.
Sign the email petition and Paper Petition if you haven't already!
July could be a very valuable month in the fight to save Phil.
